Help us earn Red Cross scholarship funds & save lives by donating at our blood drive! 16-year-olds may donate with a signed Red Cross parental consent form. Current Focus:
The English Language Department at FKHS continues to ensure that all students are College and Career ready. To do so, we structure lessons that incorporate collaboration, peer-to-peer feedback, and student inquiry and reflection. Teachers support this by implementing daily quick writes, flexible grouping, self-monitoring strategies, and differentiated instruction. For Quarter 3, our instructional focus is Argumentative Writing, which will be assessed through the district-mandated CPA (Common Paced Assessment) for Quarter 3.

📚 What Are Students Learning?

Chemistry ⚛️

Students are under pressure finishing gases and gas laws. Next, they’ll be mole‑d over mole conversions and stoichiometric calculations. If time allows, they’ll react to chemical equations—because Chemistry is all about finding the right solution!

Anatomy 🧠

We’re nerve‑ously continuing our deep dive into the nervous system. Students are working on a case study project that will really stimulate their thinking. Expect them to be firing on all synapses as they connect concepts to real‑world applications.

German I

Our German I students are diving into conversations about their daily school schedules and sharing their opinions about classes and sports—all in German! They’re currently preparing an oral presentation and will take a quiz this week on school subjects. Up next, they’ll explore how to talk about hobbies and favorite pastimes

Connecting Assessments
Fine Arts students took the Connecting assessments twice last semester. They improved from most students being proficient to most students being above standard.

Respond Assessments
This semester, Fine Arts students will take the Respond Assessments. Our goal is for 50% or more to score proficient on the 1st assessment and for 70% or more to score proficient on the 2nd assessment.
