The Kindness Rocks

Seniors in Dr. Alvarez’s ELA 12 classes are working through the model unit and writing their CPA on “how art impacts society.” So, in order to give them the ability to create some art and impact others in a small way (that can lead to something big!) and integrate Kindness Month and World Kindness Day into this unit, the students completed and Explore Board on World Kindness Day and the Kindness Rocks project. Then, they painted their own Kindness Rock. Over Thanksgiving Break they will be assigned the task of going out into the World and placing their rock somewhere that someone will find it… and hopefully make their day. They will be asked to write about where they placed their rock and why when we return to class in December. The whole experience can be used as evidence in their end of the quarter CPA.
