FALL SPORTS OFF AND ROLLING

The month of August has come and gone, and Fort Knox High School's fall sports teams are off to
fantastic starts.

Soccer
The Boys Soccer team opened its season with a huge 4-2 victory over rival Meade County,
a school with more than 1,500 students enrolled. As of this publication, the Eagles are off to their best
start in more than 25 years with a 4-1 record. Leading the way is Gavin Noopon, who currently leads the
nation in goals scored according to MaxPreps, with an impressive 20 goals on the season. Not to be
outdone, the Girls Soccer team is off to an undefeated 2-0 start, earning victories over much larger
schools in Fern Creek and Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP).

Cross Country & Volleyball
The Cross Country team has its largest roster in years, with more than 35 runners competing this season. The program continues to build momentum as it prepares for its first meet of the year. The Volleyball team picked up an early-season victory over Caverna will look to continue that momentum with games this week.

Football, Cheer, ESports, & Golf
The Cheer and Football teams officially kicked off their seasons on August 21 and continue to improve
and grow together with each week of competition. Entering its second full season, the Esports program
continues to expand as one of the school's newest athletic offerings. More than 20 students have signed
up to compete this year. Finally, for the first time in more than a decade, the Golf team has made its
triumphant return to FKHS Athletics. The team's first match is quickly approaching on September 8.

Currently, 179 student-athletes are participating in FKHS Athletics, which is 50 more than last year and
represents nearly a 40% increase in participation. The future is bright, and there is plenty of positive
momentum as Fort Knox High School's athletic programs roll into September.
