The AP Language Book Tasting

Students in Dr. Alvarez’s AP Language and Composition class are moving into a new unit in which they have the choice of nonfiction text for a group research project and writing assignment. To select the texts and groups the students moved through four stations and were tasked with evaluating the four books that they can choose from. Each book was paired with a continental breakfast snack and apple cider to make the taste of the book even more sweet. The students ranked the books after the tasting and will be place into groups based on their ranking of those texts. Promoting student agency and giving them the power to have a voice in their own learning!
