Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary

Each year, the American Legion Auxiliary conducts an essay contest for students in grades 3 to 12. The submissions are judged in 6 classes, with a winner selected from each class at the local, department (state), and national levels.
The winners at the local level will receive $25, and their essays will be submitted to the department, where they will compete with winners from the local levels within the department.
The winners at the department level will receive $25, and their essays will be submitted to the national level for consideration.
The winners at the national level will receive $50, and a $50 donation in the student's name will be made to the Spirit of Youth Scholarship fund.
